SUMMARY:Members' Meeting
DESCRIPTION:This evening we will be celebrating our heritage and honouring the lives of the women who were here before us as members of the first WI in Adderbury\, which began in 1921 and finally closed in 2005. We will open the meeting\, as they did\, with Jerusalem Then there will be a short introduction drawing on the contents of the Holt Archive\, a collection of programmes\, press reports and cuttings and a few photographs from the Adderbury and Milton WI. Members are invited to channel the 1960’s by wearing something from or reminiscent of the period . After this everyone will be invited to enjoy a bring and share supper\, again with a sixties theme\, and perhaps to recall what they were doing in 1967.  One competition that year was to ‘Make a necklace from nature’ which we hope to recreate this evening. Necklaces should be made from natural objects\, though manmade fastenings are allowed\, There will be a prize! We will also have an exhibition on the theme of ‘The Fruits of our Labours’ – please bring something you have made\, not necessarily recently. It might be a piece of writing\, a jar of chutney\, a flower arrangement\, a loaf of bread\, a garment….. \nPLEASE NOTE: The meeting will start at the earlier time of 7 o’clock.
