Exhibition of the 1921 banner made by members of the Adderbury and Milton WI in 1921
April 26 at 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
We are delighted to be able to display the 1921 banner to coincide with the Day of Dance. This is the occasion on which the Adderbury Morris sides dance at various venues in the village in memory of Janet Blunt without whom most of the dances from the 19th century would have been lost. Miss Blunt was a founding member of the Adderbury and Milton WI in 1921 and an important contributor to the design and making of the banner which now belongs to the National Needlework Archive. There will be displays of information about the history of the banner and the conservation work undertaken by eight of our members. We hope to serve tea, coffee and cakes during the day.
The exhibition will also be open on Sunday 27 April from 10am to 3pm at Church House (the Library)
