Our speaker this evening will be Dr Muriel Pilkington. Dr Pilkington will give us the background to the Mitford family whose origins were in Northumbria but who from 1804 lived in the Cotswolds. She will tell us about the idyllic childhood in the early twentieth century of the famous six sisters and their brother Tom and then focus on the subsequent lives and careers of these remarkable women..
