We needed a good day for the School and Church Fete for Saturday, 14th June and despite a few spots of rain and some cloud cover in the early morning, we did have our good day; even if later on, some of us were a little worried about the darkening skies lingering momentarily!
It was a lovely day, enthusiastic young people brought their willing parents, Mums and friends “manned” their stalls and the School Committee had obviously done their very best to produce a well-run and smashing event for all concerned .
And we were there too, Committee members and Ladies of the Adderbury and District WI, with our “Lucky Jar Tombola” stall and tickets were selling like hot-cakes, with three for £1.00. Our wrapped and filled jars looked bright, cheerful and inviting and each one of us, knowing the contents of our own “Lucky Jars” must have confidently known all successful “tombolees” would be delighted with their tombola wins.
It looked like every other stall was doing well too, being busy and having fun and well, see for yourself, how the School and Church Fete filled the Lucy Plackett Playing Field with happy families, enjoying a lovely summer’s afternoon of great fun at the Christopher Rawlins Primary School and St. Mary’s Church Fete of the season…..
