Adderbury Christmas Tree Festival – 5-7 December 2014

Posted by on Dec 9, 2014 in Reflections

Our WI Christmas Tree for the Christmas Tree Festival this weekend looked very pretty dressed in the glittered and beribboned salt dough angels, Christmas trees, snowmen, bells and deer etc. that members cleverly  made and decorated.   It was an exciting project to be involved in and we all enjoyed dressing our tree at the church last Thursday,

I was absolutely thrilled to win our  Christmas tree as a raffle prize at the Christmas party last Thursday and now looking forward to taking it home tomorrow morning.

Our WI tree did not win any prize at the Festival but it remains a very pretty tree.  I really hope there is a Christmas Tree Festival next year, and that we are all keen to decorate another tree.

At the end of the Victorian Carol Service this afternoon, the prize-winning entries were announced under the following four groups –

Overall Winner with the highest number of votes  –  Sharp and Blunt – Adderbury Ladies Morris – Tree No. 16

Local Business winning entry  –                                           The Meat Joint – Butcher – Tree No. 5

Local Pub group  –                                                                      The Coach and Horses – Wadworth Community Pub of the Year – Tree No. 11

Children and young people group –                                      Little Angels – Under 5s worship – Tree No. 39

Well done to all four prize-winning trees and to the teams which designed and produced them.
