Following on from our business meeting and Resolution discussion “Failing to Care” we had our social event – a Swishing opportunity for accessory items.
Each member could bring up to five items and for each one you were given a ticket to exchange for one of the items brought in by another member. During the evening there was time to inspect the handbags, scarves, belts and jewellery brought in, all beautifully laid out on separate tables, and when all the business matters for the evening had been attended to, members were able to make their choices in exchange for the tickets given. One item for one ticket. And if you have not brought in any items to exchange but had seen something you had liked then, when all tickets had been swapped for an item, a member would have been able to buy that item for £1.00
There was a good turnover of accessory items brought in and taken home and, at the end of the evening, those items not chosen or required for other events, were put into a charity box for distribution via one of our local charitable outlets.
Members had enjoyed a glass of wine, hot coffee or tea and the pick of some delicious cakes and biscuits. It was a highly entertaining evening and here’s a few photos of the occasion… handbags and scarves
