Party in the Park Festival day dawned bright with rain clouds appearing later as rain was forecast, pattering, falling throughout the day and keeping crowds down a little. By the time our WI stall closed for the day at 6 o’clock, the sun was hot and shining brightly in a clear blue sky.
Our homemade cake stall looked very good with a great choice of Victoria sandwich cakes and sponges, chocolate Victoria sponges, flapjack, lemon drizzle squares, almond biscuits, Tiffin, a pineapple fruit cake, another lemon drizzle loaf cake, gingerbread and delicious looking lemon squares.
Flowers for the table were decorated by Diane and everything was set up and organised smoothly and we were very delighted with all the scrumptious cakes made by fellow members of Adderbury WI.
Unfortunately, the generator failed to work to begin with, making it impossible for us to serve our first guests hot refreshment with their cakes, but they were very patient and kind and came back when we were ready with boiling water from our urn.
