This week’s recipes are ideas for Christmas Day; a meal with family and friends. New recipes as well as old traditional favourites.
Stay calm and cook! There is still time to prepare last-minute special treats for Christmas gatherings or presents. For your special pudding, take a look at our well used and trusted recipes on the dessert pages.
Also on the baking pages you will find lots of ideas and choices to start your Christmas preparations; cakes and puddings. How about using the NFWI Centenary Fruit Cake as Christmas Cake this year? The recipe as served to more than 5,000 members at the Royal Albert Hall 4 June has been extremely popular.

I often find the most tiresome part of meal planning is deciding what you are going to cook, when and how and, what you’ll have to go with your main dish. This idea applies much more to everyday food preparation, of course, than to celebratory meals when it’s fun to explore new ideas or use treasured family heirloom recipes.
Happy festive cooking and eating…Merry Christmas everyone …
