Dear Ladies,
I am delighted to tell you that our event, A Clean for Adderbury, managed to secure a total of 15 bags of rubbish and 5 bags of leaf mould and that we also were instrumental in identifying a further 4 items of dumped rubbish, whose location we have passed on to Cherwell District Council for clearance and disposal.
Over coffee and biscuits at the Coach and Horses PH we planned our litter pick-up walks, going off in all directions, filling our Clean for the Queen purple and black bags, and cleaning grubby road signs wherever possible. Luckily the sun came out as the morning progressed and the cold wind failed to stop our clean-up endeavours.
Gill kindly took all filled bags home with her and these were picked up bright and early by Cherwell DC on Monday morning, plus their loaned hi-viz jackets and pickers.
We all enjoyed a splendid morning’s activity, coffee and biscuits and a tasty lunch to round off the event. Here’s a few photos of mine and Gill’s for all to view….

Adderbury has been congratulated for taking part by Campaigns Adviser Jane Finnerty and OxClean Team Leader Rosanne Bostock with the hope that “more WI’s will be inspired to join in next year”.
