Gardening at our WI wild flower gardens at Adderbury Lakes and Katharine House Hospice last Thursday, 23rd June 2016.

Also last week at our WI wild flower beds at Adderbury Lakes where thistles had rather got the upper hand. I applied garden shears to the tallest of these and the nettles and other plants threatening to overwhelm the plants and seeds put in last month and then hand weeded as many thistles as possible. Thistle spraying will be carried out at some point around the whole Lakes area. Our flowering plants are doing well and the seedlings too but the weeds continue to thrive endlessly. xxx
Last week with our WI GWS garden at Katharine House Hospice where we now have Corn chamomile and Oxeye daisy plants in bloom alongside the Campion which has now been in flower since the middle of May xxx
