I’ve been enduring difficulties with my computer and lingering irritated nerve problems but…I am sorry these matters have prevented my keeping our WI website up-to-date.

Dear Members, So looking forward to our An Evening with Irene Tyack tonight at Church House, Adderbury, at 7.30pm to hear Irene talk about her life and work as an artist and her Yellow Hat Tribe. Tickets £5.00 to include nibbles and a glass of wine, a Raffle table and Yellow Hat Tribe cards to buy. This is a fund-raising evening for members and their friends and we anticipate a highly enjoyable open evening for everyone.

WI members and friends gathered together at Church House for An Evening with Irene Tyack and her Yellow Hat Tribe people and all enjoyed a fabulous evening We also enjoyed a pretty raffle draw – plants, Cava, Chocolates, winter Cyclamen plants and a Yellow Hat Tribe Tea Towel kindly donated by Irene. Wine and nibbles were provided and a splendid time ensued xxx




A brilliant evening for An Evening with Irene Tyack at Church House for our WI members and friends with Irene and husband Vince. Having set up their fabulous sales table, Irene proceeded to tell us all about her life and her emerging creative talent which blossomed and took on a whole life of its own, carrying Irene and her work all over the world, brilliantly appreciated by all who come into contact with Irene and her glorious work – and her delightful Yellow Hat Tribe people. Dear Members, We are all still terribly excited by Karen Rockell’s inspirational presentation “Me and My Transplant” and her experience of coping and surviving her successful liver transplant. Karen also spoke of the rare condition Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection – SCAD – which caused a heart attack within weeks of her operation, the scarcity of info and knowledge of the disease and her search for survivors which led eventually to her joint-creation of a charity – Beat SCAD – which Karen now promotes through speaking engagements, a Facebook Page, Twitter and a LinkedIn presence.
Karen left leaflets to share with our GPs and other appropriate people whenever possible to help with the spread of awareness and knowledge of this very rare condition.
Adderbury & District wild flower gardening at Adderbury Lakes enjoyed a boost last Saturday at the Working Party morning, when Bernice took up arms against brambles in the adjoining ground next to our main flower bed, where our ox-eye daisies have done so well this year. So well did Bernice clear the ground that Andrew said we could plant up this area too for 2017 which is very exciting.
