Dear Members,
Team WI wild flower gardening at Adderbury Lakes where are areas are doing rather well. We had a newly cleared area from late last year, next to our main bed, which we have now cleared of a whole bagful of very healthy thistles – Eeyore would have been delighted with our haul – which have gone on to the compost heap.
The plot has now been seeded with kindly given wild flower seeds and own poppy seeds to hand, which should brighten our area considerably, even if only a few seedlings manage to struggle up through competing weeds and busy thistles.
Hopefully, passing bees will linger over our wild flowers and carry back lovely pollen for honey making duties.
Here’s a few photos xxx

Team WI Wild flower gardening at KHH last Thursday, 25th May. Fading Campion blooms were pruned out and the path in our second bed was cleared by hoe to remove unwanted greenery. Over-hanging branches and plant material were cut-back and everything tidied-up. Our Campions continue to bloom well and we also have strong growth of our Corn chamomile plants which hopefully will bloom shortly. The KHH Open Garden day is Sunday, 4th June – 2 – 5pm when we hope to have a good show of wild flower blooms.
