Adderbury Library friends, neighbours and bookworms – say thank you and farewell to Sue
Sue Hitchings, Adderbury Library Manager is retiring after 26 fulfilling years of books, management duties and happy bookworms coming to her for friendly and helpful comments and connections. A friendly face, much laughter and much serious work behind the scenes, to keep the library going through good times and tough times, her presence will be most sorely missed but it is to be doubted we shall totally lose sight of her happy personality about Adderbury and she will be found in Deddington too, which is good news for everybody. We had a very good meeting on Wednesday, 18th July 2014, at which our main discussion matters centred on our participation at the Christmas Market on 29th December, our own Christmas party – its menu and supporting details – WI membership and future programme details, activities and events and fundraising matter And further discussion on arrangements for the proposed joint Calendar with Adderbury Community Food Market, our wrapped jars stall, Party in the Park, correspondence matters and arrangements for the next WI Meeting on Thursday, 3rd July 2014. Dear Ladies, Our Adderbury WI Cream Tea stall at Party in the Park on Saturday, 21st June was a great success. After expenses, we raised just over £100.00 for our own funds, selling all your wonderful home-made scones and cakes on the very beautiful longest day of 2014. A very well attended event for the music, a good variety of foods and exciting stalls such as Enid’s Fair Trade stall, Katherine House Hospice, The Aloe Life and Buttons about Crafts, amongst many others. The music was great, the weather absolutely perfect and everybody had a fantastic day….. ...
