Dear Members, Grow Wild Flower gardening at KHH on Thursday, 18th August 2016 WI wild flower gardening at KHH with Grow Wild Seed seedlings from this year’s seeds, filling in the gaps after pruning out faded plants, collecting seeds from the bright pink campion plants our site sported this year and looking forward to gathering in seeds from the corn chamomile plants. These seeds are not fully dried yet, still immature, therefore possibly not able to produce wild flower blooms for 2017. Friday, 19th August 2016 Dear Ladies, We had a splendid evening last night for Games in the Garden at Holly House with a wonderful spread of delicious nibbles and finger food plus strawberries and shortbread and lashings of Pimms. Adderbury & District WI added 4 new photos. 5 mins · Dear Members, Gardening at Adderbury Lakes and another new plant to write about, that of the selfheal – Prunella vulgaris – this plant has just popped up into the middle of the beds we are caring for this summer. The tiny purple flower spikes grow on what rather looks like one of those wooden honey dippers, growing low down the purple spikes show up quite well once you’ve spotted them growing. Coming away from this bed towards the pathway to the gate, I suddenly noticed two further selfheal plants I’d not seen before. The white campion plant is still blooming and I feel there could be other plants and blooms just waiting to emerge. The cornflower is still doing very well, so too our ox-eye daisies Adderbury & District WI Our selfheal plant at KHH is also doing well – just waiting for the purple spikes to appear...
