theWI Adderbury and District WI – Wild Flower Gardening at KHH and Adderbury Lakes July 2017

A quick weed at Adderbury Lakes by Team WI yesterday pm, in the hot sun, but oh my the benefit from just a short weed. That awful sticky plant line had wound its way around, over and through our wild flower collection – ox-eye daisies, Campion, and white Campion and poppies – and just by a little pruning out of this rampant weed, our plants were able to lift their heads and move more freely. Of course, what all our plants want is a good rainfall very soon. With the ground becoming so dry, I was rather anxious about their progress and very relieved to find them doing so well. Both beds were watered. Adderbury Team WI wild flower gardening at KHH with Grow Wild Seed, digging up the back edge of our main area to allow more wild seed sowing shortly and pruning some of our faded Campion blooms. Dear Members,   Team WI wild flower gardening at KHH with Grow Wild seeds where, while our Campion blooms are fading, our Corn Chamomile plants are doing very well We are digging parts of our main bed to allow re-seeding to take place very soon. And most exciting news, our first Viper’s Bugloss plant is doing very well. Dear Members,   Adderbury Team WI were hard at work last Thursday, 15th June, clearing away twigs, branches and background material to bring more daylight to our Grow Wild wild flower area at KHH. Our Campion have sadly withered and fallen due to awful lack of rain recently. Luckily they were on show for the Open Garden Day at KHH on Sunday 4th June.
